Charron Family Reunion

Writing now from the Charron family reunion in Spearfish, SD. I send vacation greetings and blessings. As you may remember, my mother was one of eight original Charrons of Seneca, SD. Bishop Joe Charron, my uncle, 86, is doing well, as are the 120+ 1st, 2nd and 3rd cousins who came. There is golf, tennis, pickleball, biking, swimming, trapshooting, and a lot of music and food.
That is a lot of activity. But the real purpose is leisure and spending time together in a beautiful place of nature, as is Spearfish. This is to stop the clock for a moment, look around, share memories, and see life with some new perspective and hope. We take a break from worrying about things to spend some time and relax with some interesting people, who have grown in their faith, and who, each to each other, happen to be related.
As I prepare to celebrate Mass with Bishop Joe for this crowd, I pray also for you, my family in Christ. May you too find leisure over this summer to rediscover how Jesus has grown in you, and how you have grown in him. May all of us and our families be blessed on this journey. And may we be there always for those who need us, in our prayers, support, and faith!
