Liturgical Feast Days of October

Approaching the month of October, we prepare for a succession of liturgical feast days of special friends. Initiated by our special sister, St. Therese, the October festal progression grows through the Little Ones of Jesus, into a panoply of powerful legacies of the Catholic tradition. This is a favorite time of year for us pray-ers, with a new delight in each day, praying under the intercession of some of the most extraordinary witnesses to faith, with lives to cherish and emulate. Here is a review of the October lineup:

·         October 6         St. Bruno

Simply reading this list draws forth an invitation to joyful prayer. Herein lies inspiration for all ages, times and seasons, from ancient disciples to the newly sanctified, the martyrs, teachers, missionaries, leaders, all servants and strivers for Jesus. These saints represent countless souls who have sought, found, and brought forth the love of Christ into the world, who are now with him eternally. Seeing God face to face, they watch over us and eagerly assist us in our journey.

We are part of an extended family which has been founded in Our Lord, and nurtured through the loving attention of Our Blessed Mother. Looking ahead, our October prayer will be rich indeed, calling on this family, and leaning into the graces each day will bring. Let us prepare, then, in prayer, for the continuing conversion every more open to us. Let us prepare for a joyful and delightful October.
