Mary is Alive!

ree

I tend to be very literal, and I have a tendency to not believe unless I see it with my own eyes.  Nevertheless, like I was taught from toddlerhood, I believe in God, Heaven and all the things I was taught, but I believed them in a subconscious sort of way. Because they tell me to believe.  So, when praying the Rosary in front of a statue of the Virgin Mary, I was praying to that statue I was looking at. Not to an invisible person dwelling in an invisible Heaven. Because what I don’t see doesn’t exist.

Well, something had to happen in order to rectify this situation, don’t you think?  And so, one day something did happen.  It was many years back, but I remember it well and I am telling you the truth.

"I tend to be very literal, and I have a tendency to not believe unless I see it with my own eyes."

I was on one of my treks in wild areas looking for specks of gold in the rocks on the ground or wherever, when my feet met something that wasn’t shaped like a rock. I picked it up and found that it was a small statue of the Virgin Mary. Very dirty, but intact. So, I brought it home, washed it and then painted it.   I painted the veil blue with very expensive gold paint trim. Flesh color skin, dark hair, etc. Then I placed the statue in a corner of my home with candles and flowers. And I started saying my daily Rosary in front of it. That was many years ago.

Then one day, and you’re not going to believe this, but I came in and looked at the statue and the statue looked back at me. Its eyes continued on as I progressed within the room, and it even smiled.  This state of affair continued for several days however, I don’t remember how many, giving me the absolute conviction that Mary was indeed alive.

"Then one day, and you’re not going to believe this, but I came in and looked at the statue and the statue looked back at me."

Oh, some might say I’m crazy but nevertheless, consider the fact that many times in my life I believed that the teachings of the church were fairy tales concocted by the priests, made up stories that we were gullible to believe.

However, thanks to this smiling statue that I have, in these present times I am very convinced that Mary is alive and existing as a real person, and by deduction so is her Son and His teachings as reported by the Catholic Church in which I believe, Amen.
