Pray for Life

Thank you for your prayers and support throughout our endeavors to defeat amendment 79 on the November ballot.  I share your sadness that we were unable to stop the enshrinement of unlimited abortion into the Colorado constitution.  I appreciate that we all tried so hard, and that our parishes and the counties in our diocese, that is, your local communities, did move some hearts and minds towards the value of Life.  Please be encouraged that the coalition which has now formed of ecumenical faith groups, pregnancy centers, doctors and healthcare workers, committed citizens and our Catholic leadership has given us hope that we may take steps in the future towards a culture of life in Colorado.

Still, we are saddened, and we look to Jesus, who carried his cross against the world, who walks with us through these times.  In gratitude for our communion with him and in solidarity with all unborn children, their mothers, and in renewal of our commitment to serve those families in distress, I again thank you for your efforts, and ask you to continue to listen, watch and pray, how you may assist Jesus in bringing forth life in this world.

May you and your families stay warm and healthy, and may all be blessed.
