The Chrism Trail

The message this week is short and sweet.  Come Holy Spirit!  We are already well along the Chrism Trail.  We have just celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation in Lamar, La Junta, Trinidad, Pagosa Springs.  I am about to celebrate in Durango, and by the time you read this we will have finished the Alamosa deanery.  Then, onwards through Pueblo and out to Grand Junction, Montrose, and places between.

It is such a special time of the year, seeing the fresh looks on faces as the Holy Spirit works its wonderful ways.  Thank you to clergy, religious ed teachers, sponsors and candidates for your openness to the Spirit.  And invitations to all to check your parish calendars and join us in our confirmation celebrations as you are able.

Please pray with us along the way:

“Come, Holy Spirit, fill the hearts of your faithful, and kindle in

them the fire of your love,

Send forth your Spirit, and they shall be created, and you shall

renew the face of the earth.

O God, who did instruct the hearts of your faithful

by the light of the Holy Spirit,

Grant us in the same Spirit to be truly wise, and ever to

rejoice in his consolation,

Through Christ, our Lord.  Amen”

May your season of Easter be blessed as we await the new Pentecost!

+Most Reverend Stephen J. Berg

Bishop of Pueblo
